I bring a unique background in education and counseling to my work with my clients. I also bring to my work a lifelong commitment to fitness and the examined life.
My psychotherapy practice evolved from a successful career as a Professor of Health Sciences at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) where I taught classes in health behavior, health and sexuality, substance abuse prevention and gender studies among other topics. My interest in clinical work evolved from my interactions with many of my students who allowed me to share in their personal struggles as they addressed often complex psychosocial stressors that were impacting their relationships, educational experiences, and overall quality of life. I was deeply honored to be able to share in the journeys of many incredible students over the course of my 30+ year career at CSUSB. In 1993 I returned to school to complete studies in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling. I also completed a 400-hour post graduate training program in Somatic Relational Psychotherapy through The Southern California Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis. I have profoundly enjoyed providing therapy for more than 20 years to children, teenagers and adults as part of Redlands Therapy Group and through my current private practice.
